Morrison

Clan Morrison, three separate origins: Donegal (keepers of St Columcille’s relics), Hebridean (Brehons or judges), and Aberdeenshire (descended from Norman “Maurice”). In Lewis, the chief’s deathbed confession destroyed the family’s power; they allied with Mackenzies but were later driven out by them. The Clan Morrison Society was founded in 1909. In 1965, the chiefship was settled on the Morrisons of Ruchdi. The present chief, Dr. Ru Morrison, is an oceanographer. A clan of sea-valour, judges, and modern science.
