This large 90mm ‘boss’ style plaid brooch is a statement piece inspired by the great Celtic crosses that once stood across Scotland, Ireland, and Britain. The round nimbus behind the cross and the deeply-cast interlaced knotwork – representing eternity and life’s twisting fortunes – echo the artistry of stone crosses found on Iona and elsewhere. Cut-outs reveal the tartan or shawl beneath. Domed and weighty, with a large brass pin, it is ideal for securing a fly plaid, a shawl, or a Great Kilt.
