Book of Kells Interlaced Wading Birds Kilt Pin

Inspired by the majestic herons and pelicans of the 9th-century Book of Kells, the finest example of Insular art, this kilt pin features two interlaced wading birds whose curving necks meet in open-work Celtic knotwork. Wading birds symbolised patience and spiritual contemplation in Celtic culture. The design flows into a braided weave and sleek tapered blade. Cast in premium pewter with a matte antique finish. Made in our Glasgow workshop. 9.7cm long. A timeless tribute to early medieval manuscript art.
