Book of Kells Wading Bird Kilt Pin
Inspired by the slender herons and pelicans of the 9th-century Book of Kells, the finest example of Insular art, this kilt pin features a sculpted wading bird with looping neck knotwork and detailed feather textures. Flowing into a braided Celtic shaft, it is finished with a brilliant crystal stone of your choice. Wading birds symbolised patience and spiritual contemplation in Celtic culture. Cast in premium pewter with an antique silver finish. Made in our Glasgow workshop. 9.8cm long. A timeless tribute to early medieval manuscript art.
