Macpherson

Clan Macpherson “Son of the parson” – founded by a married priest of the old Celtic church. Part of Clan Chattan. Tradition says they destroyed the Comyns for Bruce. Known as the “Clan of the Three Brothers.” Euan of Cluny was a famous Jacobite leader in 1745, defeating a superior force at Clifton Moor and evading capture for nine years after Culloden. His nephew, “Duncan of the Kiln” (born in a corn kiln), later fought for the Government. The clan museum preserves their relics. A clan of parsons, warriors, and nine‑year fugitives.
