Gemstone Celtic Cross Plaid Brooch

A large ‘boss’ style plaid brooch with gemstones set around a classic Celtic Cross. Its gently domed top and deeply cast knotwork relief make it a striking piece for formal Highland dress.

The circular nimbus behind the cross is the defining feature of the Celtic Cross, while the knotwork represents eternity and the turning fortunes of life. Historic examples of these crosses can still be seen across Scotland, including Iona.
