Battersea Celtic Penannular Brooch

Inspired by one of the finest surviving works of Iron Age Celtic art, the Battersea Shield (350–50 BC), dredged from the Thames in 1857, this large 120mm x 80mm plaid brooch is a tribute to ancient craftsmanship. Its fixed‑pin penannular design echoes the garment fasteners used across Iron Age Britain and later adopted by the peoples of Scotland and Ireland. Ideal for securing and weighting a fly plaid or shawl. Completely designed, cast, and finished in our Glasgow workshops from 100% lead‑free pewter. A bold connection to the artistry of the Celts.
