Kelpie Belt Buckle
The kelpie, a shape-shifting water horse from Scottish folklore, haunts the lochs and rivers of the Highlands. This buckle captures that legend with a rearing horse figure whose mane morphs into fluid Celtic knotwork. Enclosed by inner corner fans and a detailed interlace border, with antiqued silver-tone finish and dark oxidized contrast against a pebbled background. Made from solid 100% lead-free pewter, measuring 9.5cm by 7cm, and designed for standard 2 ¼” kilt belts. Hand-cast in our Glasgow workshop. A mysterious emblem of Highland mythology.
About the Kelpie Belt Buckle
The Kelpie Belt Buckle is inspired by the shape-shifting water horse of Scottish folklore. A rearing horse is surrounded by flowing Celtic knotwork, interlace and textured detail to create a dramatic Highland motif.
It is hand-cast in our Glasgow workshop and finished to bring out the contrast within the design.
