Inverurie Belt Buckle

Inspired by a unique 7th-century Pictish stone from Inverurie Kirkyard, Aberdeenshire, this buckle features three interwoven Pictish beasts swirling in a continuous knotwork circle. The stone, one of Scotland’s most enigmatic Dark Age treasures, is the only known Pictish slab to depict a horse as a standalone symbol. This design, with its corner fan accents and bold interlace border, is brought to life in antiqued silver-tone pewter with deep oxidized contrast. Made from solid 100% lead-free pewter, measuring 9.5cm by 7cm, and designed for standard 2 ¼” kilt belts. Hand-cast in our Glasgow workshop. Fastens counter-clockwise. A piece of ancient Aberdeenshire history.

About the Inverurie Belt Buckle

The Inverurie Belt Buckle takes its inspiration from a seventh-century Pictish stone found at Inverurie Kirkyard in Aberdeenshire. Three interwoven beasts form a continuous circular motif, framed by corner details and a bold interlace border.

The design is hand-cast in our Glasgow workshop and finished to emphasise the depth of the Pictish-inspired decoration.
